You Must Do The ‘NEW MOO’ Triathlon

21 August 2019

The Mooloolaba Triathlon has been a premier destination for multisport and triathlon communities for 27 years, hosting some of sport’s greatest names, age groupers, newbies and support teams of family and friends.

Together with the support of a passionate local community, the Mooloolaba Triathlon has cemented its place as a must do event.

Say no to FOMO… you ‘MUST DO’ the ‘new Moo” in 2020.

Entries for the iconic Mooloolaba Triathlon open, 11am Thursday 22 August, 2019, so put a reminder in your phone to make sure you secure your entry early.

Then step up the training because race day (15 March 2020) will be here before you know it.

IRONMAN Oceania Head of Operations, Rebecca van Pooss said that whether your thing is standard or sprint distance triathlon, watching the world’s best in the ITU World Cup, the twilight ASICS 5km run or just taking it all in while sitting trackside in the best cafés and restaurants on the coast, the Mooloolaba Triathlon is once again, the place to be.

“In 2020 we’re bringing more to you, for less, so everyone - athletes, potential athletes, mum, dad and the kids and those curious about the new look Mooloolaba Triathlon will have all the event information at their fingertips on the brand-new website when it goes live at 11am Thursday 22 August.”

“The early bird gets the worm and that is why we’ll be rewarding early birds with cheaper entry rates. Not only will you save money but committing now is by far the best way to keep motivated to smash your goals,” Rebecca said.

Visit Sunshine Coast CEO Simon Latchford, said the Mooloolaba Triathlon epitomises everything that is attractive about the Sunshine Coast.

“The opportunity to compete in a stunning landscape, under sunny skies and in crystal clear waters is a tremendous endorsement of what makes the Sunshine Coast such a ‘natural’ for lovers of great outdoors events.

“We wish all competitors success and hope they, their families and friends have a wonderful experience of the Sunshine Coast during their stay.”

Mooloolaba Triathlon is supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland and features on the It’s Live! in Queensland events calendar, worth $800m to the state’s economy in 2019.
